Career Coach (Full Time)

Role Summary

Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology training and learning content. Our mission is to help expand the future technology creator space. We do this by building world-class educational services that focus on making it easier for people and organizations around the world to learn the skills needed to leverage the technology space.

We are looking for a full-time Career Coach (ideally with experience coaching students/clients changing into tech careers), to join our Talent & Outcomes team in Calgary. This person will run career labs and regular 1:1 career coaching sessions with our Bootcamp students, co-host Pitch Days where students demo their final projects to industry partners, and report on job-seeker student outcomes for job applications, interviews and hiring metrics. This individual will also collaborate closely with our Partnership Development Specialist to align coaching efforts and actions with current job market and hiring trends.

This position will be based in our Calgary office (Beltline 1st Street and 11th Ave S.W.) with a fully in-office working model (5-days per week in-office).

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly updates to colleagues within the Talent & Outcomes team, including career lab attendance, assignment submissions, actively applying job seekers status (# of applications, interview invitations, job offers, and placement rates), contributing to team goal of achieving 50% employment rate within 90 days post-course and 90-100% within 180 days.
  • Facilitate weekly career labs for each cohort (based on Circuit Stream curriculum and resources), which supports student success and job readiness in the tech industry
  • Provide 1:1 coaching and mentorship to current students, helping them define goals, evolve their resume and cover letter, customize their LinkedIn profile, develop a portfolio, practice mock interviews, and other customized career support as needed.
  • Based on Career Program surveys and NPS, identify trends and feedback from students to refine and improve coaching practice and career labs.
  • Prepare graduating students who sign up for Circuit Stream Pitch Days so that they are practiced and ready to demo their capstone projects in front of an audience of industry partners, fellow students and guests.
  • Continue to maintain strong relationships with graduate job seekers who are actively applying (for up to 6 months after course completion), providing regular check-ins and updates to support their job search process and connect them with our Partnership Development Specialist for job referrals and introductions to our partners.

Requirements


Education
  • Degree: Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or related fields.
  • A relevant coaching certification is desirable but not required.

Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in career coaching or student advising, preferably in a technology-focused or educational setting.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching students or professionals in career transitions and job placements.
  • Familiarity with tech industry career paths and knowledge of job market trends.

Required Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building trust and rapport with students.
  • Ability to coach across a diverse student population, with varying needs and career goals.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a large volume of students and their respective progress.
  • Excellent presentation skills for delivering workshops and career development programs.
  • Data management skills for tracking student outcomes and progress.
  • Adaptable and open to refining career program content based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a passion for helping students succeed.
